Gentle Nutrition

These sessions are designed to support you in navigating your relationship with food and your body, in the face of physiological difficulties. The goal of the work is to support your overall health and wellbeing, reduce symptoms, prevent long-term complications, and develop an increased sense of trust in your body over time.

We offer nutrition therapy for the following conditions:

  • ADHD
  • Hyperthyroidism / Hypothyroidism

  • Poly Cystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS)

  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome / Irritable Bowel Disease and other GI issues

  • Other Autoimmune conditions

Intuitive Eating & Body Trust®

These sessions are spent exploring your current relationship with both food and your body, as well as your present health and happiness. Each session will involve deep and collaborative work to help you overcome barriers, develop trust and self-worth, and find sustainable ways to help you feel your best. I do not provide dietary support for weight loss, and instead offer support from a health-promoting, weight-neutral perspective. The ultimate goal of nutrition counseling is to guide you toward reconnecting with food and your body by creating a whole-body relationship built upon trust and attunement. Sessions are tailored toward each client's unique needs.

You may benefit from this work if you struggle with issues related to:

  • Emotional eating

  • Binge Eating Disorder

  • Yo-yo dieting

  • Fear, guilt, or shame related to food or body

  • Weight-stigma

  • Body image and self- esteem concerns

  • Perfectionism

  • Self-criticism

Insurance

Out-of-Network:

We are not currently in-network with any insurance companies. However, you may be able to get reimbursed for services with your out-of-network insurance benefits. For OON benefits, we can provide a super-bill that you would need to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Please contact your insurance carrier before your first session to find out about coverage. If you are using OON insurance, you are still responsible for covering the cost of the session in-full at the time of service. Wise Heart cannot guarantee reimbursement from insurance.

In order to increase access to care, Wise Heart offers a limited number of spaces for clients in need of a sliding scale rate. Please contact us for more information about this.

"Working with a Wise Heart dietitian helped me understand the ways that I can support my body without dieting and restricting myself all of the time. I have so much more freedom with food and feel better than I have in years!"

-Jacqueline B.

"I've detangled the ideas that I have around my self-worth being tied to my weight, and to really understand and accept the idea that having a "perfect" diet was creating so much stress that it was actually negatively impacting my health. I've regained so much mental space that was devoted to fixating on my food and my body, and can now devote my energy toward things that are much more in line with my personal values and identity."

- Christina P.

"Aleta is compassionate, brilliant, and inspirational! She has changed my life, helping me form a healthy relationship with food and my body and continues to support me as I achieve my goals in health and life."
